Copyright Terms

The following copyright terms apply to scholarly articles published in the International Journal of Social Science Research (IJSSR).

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright and full publishing rights to their articles without restriction. Copyright is not transferred to IJSSR or to Global Publications as a condition of publication.

The copyright holder is identified on the published article.

Rights Granted to the Journal

By publishing an article in IJSSR, the author grants the journal and its publisher a non-exclusive right of first publication and the non-exclusive rights necessary to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, archive, preserve and disseminate the article in electronic and other appropriate formats.

These rights allow IJSSR to maintain the published version of the article, make it available through the journal website, preserve it in relevant archives and repositories, and provide article content and metadata to indexing, discovery and scholarly information services.

The journal does not obtain exclusive publishing or commercial rights to the article.

Author Rights

As copyright holders, authors retain the right to use and reuse their work. This includes the right to:

  • share and distribute the published article;
  • deposit the article in institutional, subject or other appropriate repositories;
  • use all or part of the article in subsequent scholarly works;
  • include the article in a thesis, dissertation, book or other collection of their work; and
  • make other lawful uses of the work in accordance with their rights as the copyright holder.

Publication in IJSSR does not prevent authors from exercising these rights.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for ensuring that material included in their article does not infringe the copyright or other rights of third parties.

Where copyrighted material belonging to another rights holder is reproduced or adapted, the author must obtain any permission required for its use and provide appropriate acknowledgement. Third-party material that is not covered by the article’s open licence must be clearly identified as such.

Relationship with the Article Licence

Copyright ownership and the licence applied to a published article are separate matters. Authors retain copyright, while the use and reuse of published articles by readers and other users are governed by the open licence stated on the Licensing Terms page and on the individual article.

These copyright terms do not limit or alter the permissions granted under the applicable open licence.

Website Copyright

These terms apply to scholarly articles published by IJSSR. Copyright relating to the journal website itself, including its design, administrative content and other material not forming part of a published scholarly article, is separate from the copyright of journal articles.
