Copyright Terms

Effective Date: April 27, 2025

The International Journal of Social Science Research (IJSSR), published at www.ijssr.com, is dedicated to promoting open access to peer-reviewed research in social sciences. These copyright terms govern the publication, distribution, and use of all content published in IJSSR, including articles, reviews, case studies, and other materials.

1.  Author Copyright and Licensing:

Retention of Copyright: Authors retain full copyright ownership of their work published in IJSSR.

Grant of License: By submitting a manuscript, authors grant IJSSR a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, distribute, archive, and make the work accessible in all formats (e.g., print, online, PDF) in perpetuity. This includes the right to index, store, and share the work through IJSSR’s platforms and third-party repositories (e.g., Google Scholar, DOAJ).

Open Access License: All published works are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), unless otherwise specified. Under this license:

Users may share, copy, distribute, adapt, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial uses, provided they comply with the terms below.

The full license terms are available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/.

Author Rights: Authors may reuse their work (e.g., in books, presentations, or institutional repositories) without permission from IJSSR, provided they acknowledge the original publication in IJSSR with a full citation.

2.  User Rights and Obligations:

Permitted Uses: Users may download, share, adapt, reproduce, and distribute IJSSR content in any medium or format, subject to the CC BY-SA 4.0 license terms.

  Attribution (BY): Users must:

Credit the author(s) by name, the article title, and IJSSR as the source.

Provide a link to the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Indicate if modifications were made to the original work.

Avoid suggesting that the author(s) or IJSSR endorse the user’s work or use.

ShareAlike (SA): If users remix, transform, or build upon the work (e.g., create derivative works), they must distribute their contributions under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license or a compatible license approved by Creative Commons. This ensures derivative works remain as open as the original.

No Additional Restrictions: Users may not impose legal or technological measures (e.g., digital rights management) that restrict others from exercising the rights granted by the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

3.  Third-Party Content:

Authors are responsible for securing permission to include any third-party copyrighted material (e.g., images, tables, or lengthy quotations) in their submissions. Evidence of permission must be provided to IJSSR during the submission process.

Third-party content is not covered by the CC BY-SA 4.0 license unless explicitly stated and is subject to its original copyright terms.

4.  Publication Agreement:

Originality: Authors warrant that their submission is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. They also confirm that the work does not infringe on any third-party copyrights or rights.

Copyright Agreement: Authors must sign a publication agreement confirming the non-exclusive license to IJSSR and the application of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Manuscripts will not proceed to publication without this agreement.

Liability: Authors are solely responsible for any copyright infringement claims arising from their work. IJSSR reserves the right to remove content from publication if infringement is proven, without refund or liability.

5.  Journal Rights:

IJSSR retains the right to edit, format, and translate published content for clarity, accessibility, or stylistic consistency, with author approval for significant changes.

The journal may archive content in perpetuity and share it with indexing services, repositories, or preservation networks to ensure long-term access.

IJSSR holds the copyright to the journal’s compilation (e.g., issue layouts, website design, and editorial content such as introductions or commentaries), distinct from individual articles.

6.  Exceptions and Limitations:

The CC BY-SA 4.0 license does not apply to elements in the public domain or where use is permitted by copyright exceptions (e.g., fair use or fair dealing).

Authors’ moral rights (e.g., the right to be identified as the author) and publicity or privacy rights are not affected by these terms.

7.  Changes to Copyright Terms:

IJSSR reserves the right to update these copyright terms. Any changes will be posted on www.ijssr.com and apply to submissions received after the effective date. Previously published works remain subject to the terms in effect at the time of publication.

8.  Contact Information:

For questions about these copyright terms, permissions, or licensing, contact the IJSSR editorial office via the contact form on www.ijssr.com or the email listed in the journal’s “Contact Us” section.
