Abstract

Digital learning has changed the way students access knowledge, communicate and participate in education. Online platforms, digital libraries and artificial intelligence tools offer new opportunities for learning beyond the traditional classroom. However, educational progress cannot be measured by access to information alone. It must also consider the values that guide how knowledge is acquired, shared and applied. Honesty, empathy, respect, fairness and responsibility remain essential to the development of informed and ethical citizens. Digital learning and value education are closely connected. Digital platforms can support ethical discussions, collaborative activities and awareness of different cultures. They can also help students examine social problems and develop responsible digital citizenship. At the same time, misinformation, cyberbullying, plagiarism, privacy concerns, unequal access and the irresponsible use of artificial intelligence create significant challenges. These concerns highlight the need to integrate technological skills with moral understanding and responsible behaviour. The central argument is that digital learning and value education should complement each other. Technology can expand access to knowledge, but ethical values guide its responsible use. Their integration requires trained teachers, inclusive digital infrastructure, meaningful classroom interaction and clear institutional policies. A balanced approach can help students become digitally competent, ethically aware and socially responsible citizens. The success of digital education ultimately depends on its ability to combine technological progress with human dignity, independent judgement and concern for others.
