Abstract |
It has been more than a decade that the saffron party has ruled the country and seeing this pace, there seems no going back for BJP. It is even obvious to say that it’s an BJP era because no opposition is here to counter the strategies of the party. After the Lok Sabha polls, the opposition took a sigh of relief when INDIA bloc got a handful seats but the results of elections immediately prior and after the Lok Sabha polls and even the Lok Sabha polls were really surprising. This paper aims at studying the recent scenario of Indian electoral politics. The paper gives a thorough analysis of assembly polls of nine states. The paper is divided into two parts: legislative assembly polls of 2023, held immediately before the Lok Sabha polls and the legislative assembly polls of 2024 and 2025 held after the polls. It will provide an overview of the mood of Indian voters and how they contribute in shaping the Indian politics. It will also help us to analyse the factors behind BJP’s stronghold among the voters as well failure of opposition parties in convincing as well as retaining the faith of the voters. |
